Charlie and the chocolate factory

       Charlie and the chocolate factory

There is a few differences from the characters in the novel and in the movie. Willy Wonka was described as quite colorful in the book, but in the movie he isn’t that colorful in my opinion. But Willy Wonka has a pretty similar personality as in the book. Willy seems a bit rude to all the children except Charlie. Charlie seems pretty similar in the movie as I pictured him looking like in the book. All the children are from different countries like Germany, United States and England in the movie. In the book the children are all from Great Britain.

In the book the time period was back in the 1940’s, but in the movie there were a lot of mixtures between the late 1900’s and the mid 1900’s. In the movie things like the shops and the way everyone dressed was more from the 1940’s. There were also a few things in the movie that didn’t even exist back in the 1940’s, there were video games that you saw Mike Teavee play, and the cars were a lot different in the movie than the cars in the mid 1900’s.

There was a 3rd person narrator in both the book and in the movie. In the book you never knew who the one was that was telling the story, but in the movie you saw that the narrator was one of the oompa loompas.

  1. Trots att din reflektion är kort har du fått med tre viktiga skillnader mellan boken och filmen, t.ex. tidsaspekten, barnens nationnaliteter och berättaren i filmen och boken. Bra.
